Cathedral

Built upon the site of the great mosque from when Seville was under Muslim rule, the sheer size of Seville's massive Gothic cathedral will leave you wide-eyed with wonder. For a great bird's-eye view of the city, trot up the series of ramps to the top of the soaring Giralda. Once the minaret of the mosque, the Giralda took on a new role as a belltower upon construction of the cathedral.

Reales Alcazares

When Seville was taken back from Muslim rule, the Spanish king at the time - Pedro the Cruel - was so fond of the city that he decided he wanted to live in and rule his kingdom from it. He commissioned a total revamping of a 10th-century Moorish fortress, converting it into the Reales Alcazares: a lavish palace complex. The palace's courtyards, fountains, rooms and halls are built and decorated in the Mudejar style, which features beautiful and elaborate wood and tile work.

Plaza de España

Located across from the Maria Luisa Park and easily a favorite stop for tourists, this immense semi-circular plaza served as the centerpiece of the 1929 Expo. Take a walk around the plaza and snap some photos of the impressive fountains, the majestic stairways and arches, the miniature canal and finally the beautiful scenes - all done in colorful tiles - spread across the structure representing each of Spain's diverse provinces.

***BONUS! Enforex Seville's unbeatable location in the historic Santa Cruz neighborhood means that you'll be studying Spanish just steps away from the Cathedral, the Reales Alcazares, the Maestranza bullring and the Plaza de España. There's no better place to be!

Torre de Oro

Nestled into the Guadalquivir River's eastern bank is the once gold-plated Torre de Oro, or Tower of Gold. This 13th century tower once composed an important part of the massive wall built around Seville to protect its people and - more importantly - its assets. Inside you can pay a visit to the Naval Museum, a surprisingly interesting stop featuring a variety of artifacts from the city's maritime past.

Bullring

Atmospheric and elegant, Seville's bullring - La Maestranza - is the second most important bullring in Spain, after Madrid's Las Ventas. The historic bullring attracts the very best bullfighters and is a fantastic place to take in a traditional bullfight, if you're up for the experience! The Maestranza also pays homage to the history of the controversial sport of bullfighting through the Museo Taurino (Bullfighting Museum), where you can see all sorts of memorabilia spanning the years: old posters, photographs, paintings, red capes, mounted bull heads and more than a few trajes de luces, the spectacular and colorful suits worn by bullfighters.
